Abstract

It is tried to recover high resolution gravitational information from airborne gravimetry from a new approach integrating i. GPS observations from an Ashtech3DF receiver for position and its derivatives and attitude and ii. accelerometer observations from a normal Sundstrand QA-3000. Both sensors were strapped to a slow and low flying aircraft without use of a platform. The hardware supplemented by some useful electronics and an integrated Kaiman filter including a gravity shaping filter has the potential for mGal accuracy and few km resolution. The paper describes concept, system realized, tests and discusses some of the issues inherent to this approach.
