Zusammenfassung

Für die medizinische Betrachtungsweise bedeutete es einen großen Fortschritt, als aus der Organmorphologie in den 30er Jahren eine Arbeitsrichtung hervorging, die sich der Erforschung funktioneller Systeme widmete. v. Lichtenberg formulierte im urologischen Bereich die Systempathologie; Boeminghaus differenzierte dynamische von mechanischen Hindernissen und ebnete damit den Weg für eine Kausaltherapie von Harntransport- und Blasenentleerungsstörungen. Unter dem Namen Urodynamik konnte die funktioneile Betrachtungsweise zu einer neu konzipierten Denkrichtung heranreifen, welche Morphologie und Funktion als einander ergänzende Wege erscheinen läßt.
