Abstract

During the past years a fundamental change has taken place in the various stages of newspaper production. The modern newspaper industry has turned away form the Gutenberg technique. It was replaced by electronics at all stages of newspaper production preceding printing. Journalists write their articles on video-type-writers. Editors do no longer pick agency news form the proofs of teleprinters, but take data from electronic stores and read and evaluate them at video display terminals. Composing is done by electronic photo-type setting machines and electronics is also in control of the dispatch of the printed newspaper.
