Abstract

The lattice dynamics of crystals with wurtzite structure belongs to the most difficult of diatomtc crystals in general. As an example, the controversial situation in ZnO may be regarded. The delicate points are the 2NN forces which are different from those in crystals with zinc-blende structure (Chap. 10). Of particular interest is β-AgI for its relation to the fast ionic Ag conduction in α-AgI at high temperatures.
