Zusammenfassung
Zwölf Jahre Chemotherapie bei malignen Melanomen haben, beginnend am Punkte Null, zweifellos beachtenswerte Fortschritte gebracht, aber das Gesamtergebnis kann nicht zufriedenstellen. Allenfalls bei einem Drittel aller Behandelten werden meßbare Remissionen erzielt, die zudem in Bezug auf die reduzierte Tumormasse unzureichend und im Hinblick auf die Remissionszeit eng begrenzt sind. Das ideale Therapieziel, nämlich Heilung, ist bisher in keinem einzigen dokumentierten Falle erreicht worden.
