Abstract

We show how the low temperature properties of CeCu2Si2 and Kondo lattices in general can be predicted semiquantitatively. In particular we look at the density of quasi-particle excitations for energies much less than the Kondo temperature where the systems behave like heavy Fermi liquids. We also discuss the interactions of quasi-particles with phonons and how they may influence the properties of phonons. It is shown that they are sufficiently strong in order to result in a superconducting transition temperature in CeCu2Si2 of the observed size.
