Abstract

At the end of 1984, there were 345 nuclear power units operating in 26 countries and 180 units under construction in 28 countries. Nuclear power now supplies roughly 23 percent of the world’s electricity with the nuclear share of electricity production among the various countries peaking at 58 percent. Power reactor operating experience cumulated 3,468 reactor-years.
