A unified approach for hadronic and nuclear collisions: the dual parton model

  • Conference paper
Quark Matter

Abstract

Based on topological expansion, unitarity and Regge behaviour a microscopic theory of soft hadronic collisions is formulated. It gives an overall understanding of the main features of hadronic interactions and provides a unified description of hadron-hadron, hadron-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions. A good agreement with all available data is obtained including the recent data from Oxygenheavy nucleus collision experiments at CERN.

Presented at the 6 th International Conference on Ultra-Relativistic Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions—Quark Matter 1987, 24–28 August 1987, Nordkirchen, Federal Republic of Germany
