Der Begründer der Elektroencephalographie, Hans BERGER, war Psychiater in Jena. Seine Entdeckung brachte ihm Weltruhm (BERGER 1929 S. 567): „Ich glaube also in der Tat, das Elektroencephalogramm des Menschen gefunden und hier zum ersten Male veröffentlicht zu haben.“
