Zusammenfassung

Die Aufgabe der Niere ist nicht allein die eines simplen exkretorischen Organes. Neben der Ausscheidung harnpflichtiger Substanzen obliegt es ihr auch, durch selektive Elimination überschüssiger Ionen die Konstanz des milieu interieur zu wahren. Daneben tritt jedoch in den letzten Jahren immer deutlicher eine dritte Aufgabe der Niere hervor, die der endokri-nen Sekretion. Eines der in der Niere synthetisierten Hormone ist der aktive Vitamin D-Metabolit l,25(OH)2 Vitamin D.
