Zusammenfassung

Der Einfluß der Corticosteroide (CS) auf den Kohlenhydratstoffwechsel und die Beziehungen zum Diabetes mellitus wurden von zahlreichen Arbeitsgruppen intensiv untersucht. Bierich konnte im Coma diabeticum einen erheblichen Anstieg der Plasma 17-OHCS nachweisen. Als Ursache wurde die Entgleisung des Kohlenhydratstoffwechsels angenommen, die im Rahmen der Stress-Situation zu einer Stimulierung der Nebennierenrinde (NNR) führt.
