Zusammenfassung
Die operative Behandlung der Herzklappeninsuffizienzen gehört zu den jüngsten Gebieten der Chirurgie. Von einem abschließenden Urteil über den Erfolg der Arbeit und die Sinnfälligkeit der Arbeitsrichtungen sind wir noch entfernt, doch lassen sich heute einige Ergebnisse benennen, die für die Indikationsstellung einerseits und die Beurteilung der Entwicklung andererseits von Bedeutung zu sein scheinen. Ich beschränke mich in meinem Bericht auf die Insuffizienz der Aorten- und der Mitralklappen1).
