Zusammenfassung
Wie die Häufigkeit der gramnegativen Endokarditiden, so hat auch die der durch Pilze unterhaltenen Herzinnenhaut- und Klappenentzündungen in den letzten Dekaden zugenommen. Sie macht ca. 5 – 10 % der Fälle von Prothesenwie von „Drogenendokarditis“ aus (6, 9, 12, 16, 18, 21, 22, 24, 25, 32). Die wachsende Inzidenz wird nicht durch eine verbesserte Diagnostik vorgetäuscht: Vielmehr prädisponieren häufigere, z. T. auch iatrogen induzierte Risikofaktoren immer mehr Patienten zur Pilzinfektion.
