The Urbanisation of Slums in Belo Horizonte — Slums, Slums Profile

  • Chapter
Urban Ecology

Abstract

The slums are the result of the urban development and migration as well as many different kinds of social-economical and cultural conditions. Another point of the beginning of them in Belo Horizonte is the lack of districts for low class. These are a disorganised occupation without basic infrastructure in private areas and in areas of risks which were unoccupied. And, most of time the slums are situated very close to downtown, one reason that create problem to remove the people that live there.
