Zusammenfassung

Das Erleben virtueller Welten wird durch die zusätzliche Einbeziehung des menschlichen Hörsinns erheblich gesteigert. Akustische Effekte und Simulationen erweitern übliche Rendering-Systeme zur Sichtsimulation um eine neue Dimension. Das audiovisuelle, integrierte Vis-A-Vis Rendering-System als Kern des Virtual Reality-Toolkits der IGD läßt Anwendungen aus der Virtuellen Realität (VR) erheblich von dieser erweiterten Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstelle profitieren. Beispiele auf Video demonstrieren die verschiedenen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten und Qualitäten akustischer Effekte und Simulationsverfahren.
