Zusammenfassung

Das epidemische Fleckfieber ist eine akute, nicht ansteckende Infektionskrankheit, gekennzeichnet durch hohes, kontinuierliches Fieber von ca. 2 Wochen Dauer, heftige Kopfschmerzen, Benommenheit und ein makulöses Exanthem. Die Krankheit wird durch die Kleiderlaus übertragen. Der Erreger ist Rickettsia prowazekii (Rocha Lima 1916).
