Zusammenfassung

Aus anthropologischer Sicht gehört zu den Merkmalen, die den Menschen von allen anderen Arten unterscheiden, seine Fähigkeit, Erlebnisse zu deuten und ihnen Sinn zu verleihen, sowie sein Bemühen, sich — vor allem unerwartete — Ereignisse zu erklären, sie sinnvoll in seine Biographie einzuordnen und in seiner Lebensplanung zu berücksichtigen (z. B. Geertz 1973).
