Zusammenfassung
Im Berichtsjahr ist der von Mothes redigierte Band 8 des Handbuches der Pflanzenphysiologie erschienen, der dem N-Stoffwechsel gewidmet ist. Ref. versucht, bei dem in den „Fortschritten der Botanik“ bisher nicht zusammenhängend besprochenen Stoffwechsel anorganischer N-Verbindungen den Anschluß an die betreffenden Artikel des Handbuches herzustellen, so daß in diesem Beitrag auch wichtigere Arbeiten aus den Jahren 1955–1957 berücksichtigt werden. Es sei in diesem Zusammenhang auch noch auf den 1956 erschienenen wertvollen Symposiums-Band „Inorganic Nitrogen Metabolism“, herausgegeben von McElroy u. Glass, hingewiesen.
