Zusammenfassung

Die Unmöglichkeit, die Geschwülste in scharf zu trennende Gruppen einzureihen, hat Kliniker und Pathologen schon vielfach in Verlegenheit versetzt. In der Tat hat jede Klassifizierung biologischer Phänomene wegen der großen Variabilität und der immer wieder auftretenden Übergangsformen etwas Künstliches und Unvollkommenes an sich. So ist zwar die Unterscheidung der Mehrzahl der pathologischen Gewächse als gut- oder bösartig durchaus möglich und berechtigt; mitunter kommen aber Gewächstypen vor, die in klinischer und morphologischer Hinsicht weder nach der einen noch nach der anderen Seite hin eindeutig gekennzeichnet sind.
