Zusammenfassung
Die Abschnitte 4.1 und 4.2 befassen sich mit zwei Varianten der Verdünnung von Gradientenbildern. Gleichzeitig erreicht man dabei eine weitgehende Beseitigung des Rauschens. Unterbrechungen der Kante können mit diesem Verfahren allerdings nicht gefüllt werden. Abschnitt 4.3 beschreibt die von Robinson entwickelten Prüfmasken, die in Richtung der Kante aufgelegt werden und die überdeckten Konturpunkte auf homogene Anordnung überprüfen. Abschnitt 4.4 ist der Relaxation gewidmet. Hier werden die drei bekanntesten Verfahren vorgestellt.
