Zusammenfassung

Vor der Darstellung des therapeutischen Prinzips: Resektion, seiner Grundlagen, Technik und Wirkung, erscheint es sinnvoll, kurz auf seinen aktuellen Stellenwert in der Ulcuschirurgie einzugehen. Der Leser medizinischer Publikationen muß der Vorstellung unterliegen, die Resektionsverfahren seien nicht mehr oder nur noch bei speziellen Indikationen gebräuchlich und das Terrain sei von der Vagotomie beherrscht. Immer häufiger wird, in prospektiven, kontrollierten Studien statistisch gesichert, die Überlegenheit insbesondere der selektiv proximalen Vagotomie dargestellt. Sie scheint zumindest in der operativen Therapie des unkomplizierten chronischen Ulcus duodeni das Verfahren der Wahl zu sein.
