Asthma bronchiale im Kindesalter

Zusammenfassung

Auch bei eindeutigen Symptomen besteht insbesondere im Säuglings- und Kleinkindalter eine gewisse Hemmung, ein Asthma bronchiale zu diagnostizieren. Statt dessen werden rein deskriptiv eine spastische Bronchitis oder rezidivierende bzw. chronische Bronchitiden diagnostiziert und die Zusammengehörigkeit der Einzelepisoden übersehen. Diese »unterdiagnostizierten« Kinder erhalten daher häufig keine adäquate Therapie und Prophylaxe.
