Abstract
Having prepared the theoretical, conceptual and methodological ground in the previous chapters, the next part shall provide answers to the main research question, i.e. it shall specify the impact of private security actors on security governance. To this effect the following case study will scrutinize the services concepts behind the intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance (ISR) tasks under German responsibility in Afghanistan with the aim to assess all three governance dimensions: (1) the Structure of Agency, (2) the Mode of Cooperation, and (3) the Structure of Compliance.
