Zusammenfassung
Analysen zu Unternehmerverbänden können sich auf drei grundlegende Theoriestränge stützen: die Theorie kollektiven Handelns sowie klassen- und organisationstheoretische Ansätze. Die Grundlage zu theoretisch gehaltvollen Studien zum Thema wurde dabei von der Theorie kollektiven Handelns geschaffen (Olson 1965). Deren Ausgangspunkt ist, dass jede Art von Interessenverbänden darauf abstellt, kollektive Interessen zu vertreten, von deren Nutzen kein Interessent, unabhängig davon, ob er Verbandsmitglied ist oder nicht, ausgeschlossen werden kann.
Franz Traxler ist im Januar 2010 verstorben. In Erinnerung an seine wichtigen wissenschaftlichen Verdienste im Bereich der Vergleichenden Verbändeforschung sowie der Arbeitsbezeihungen wurde dieser Beitrag unverändert aus der 1. Auflage dieses Handbuchs übernommen.
