Abstract

That the British director Jeff Stein broke down crying in front of The Who is a myth, according to himself, – a good story, admittedly, but made up. Apart from that, however, he did anything possible to convince them of his idea: “I just remember just asking, begging, pleading so many times […] I wore them down. I was a tremendous, you know, pain in the ass, I suppose. I just wouldn’t give up.”
