Zusammenfassung

Die Forschung zu den Ursachen von Staatskollaps verwendet entweder quantitative oder qualitative Methoden. Dieses Kapitel identifiziert die Schwachpunkte bisheriger Forschungsdesigns und stellt den Mehrmethodenansatz des Projekts dar. Dieses verwendet eine nested analysis, um QCA und Process-Tracing miteinander zu kombinieren. Diese Verbindung hilft insbesondere dabei, die Komplexität von Staatskollaps adäquat zu studieren und die zugrundeliegenden Kausalprozesse zu identifizieren.
