Abstract

In the past years, the French electricity system has undergone substantial changes. The paradigm of market liberalisation led to a move away from the traditional monopoly structure towards a competitive market structure. In the same period, the French load properties changed and mainly driven by electrical heating and the consequent temperature sensitivity, the French peak load increased and became more volatile.
