Finanzkommunikation dient als Bestandteil der Unternehmenskommunikation dem Zweck, Informationen über die Entwicklung des Unternehmens in den Markt zu transportieren (Beier- Middelschulte, 2013, S. 7). Die Sammlung und Beurteilung von Informationen erfolgt häufig über Informationsintermediäre, die professionellen (institutionellen) sowie privaten Investoren dabei helfen, auf Basis einer fundierten Informationsbasis Investitionsentscheidungen zu treffen (Diehl, 2001, S. 401).
