Zusammenfassung
Die Wahl Emmanuel Macrons zum französischen Staatspräsidenten im Mai 2017 führte nicht nur zu einem großen Aufatmen im In- und Ausland angesichts der nationalistischen Agenda seiner Gegenkandidatin Marine Le Pen; sie weckte auch große Hoffnungen und Erwartungen. Schon im Wahlkampf hatte Macron offensiv für sein europapolitisches Programm geworben und einen erneuerten europapolitischen Führungsanspruch Frankreichs deutlich erkennen lassen. In der Folge untermauerte er die Rückkehr zu einer aktiven, voluntaristischen Europapolitik in einer Reihe von Interviews und in Grundsatzreden, die mit großer Emphase vorgetragen wurden und rhetorische Feuerwerke zündeten.
