Abstract

This chapter is concerned with the overall research design of this study with a particular focus on the methods chosen and utilised. After a brief introduction to the general philosophical approach adopted in this research, the chapter discusses the two paradigms used in most scientific research studies: positivism and interpretivism. The chapter proceeds with a section on the chosen research methodology, explaining the origins, development and key elements of the grounded theory methodology, including a critical discussion of the two schools of grounded theory.
