Abstract

The problem of long-term planning of a communications network is a problem of the synthesis of this network. The flow in this network is composed of individual multi-commodity flows.

The method developed to solve this problem is based on searching the shortest path between all nodal pairs. Here the costs of the edges are a function of the flow and of their length.

Furthermore, it is outlinedhow, by means of this method, global statements can be made on transmission techniques and operational requirements.
