Abstract

In studies of the physico-chemical mechanisms of the origin and propagation of stimuli across nerve fibers the main significance is usually attached to phenomena occurring in the surface membrane. The inner medium-axoplasm is considered to be of secondary importance. However, there are facts which contradict the membrane approach of the processes.
