Abstract

The human factors portion of testing and evaluating armed forces materiel is, in most cases, done by technical or military experts. In doing so, psychological aspects are frequently not sufficiently taken into account. This becomes already obvious when reading the various standards for testing such as “Test Operation Procedures.” Watching the course of a pertinent investigation will then confirm this impression. However, if test results are to be predictive, reliable, and representative, psychological factors must be taken into consideration.
