Zusammenfassung
Die grossen Krisen der 1990er Jahre — EWS 1992/3, Mexiko 1994 und Asien 1997 — haben das Thema Währungs- und Finanzmarktkrisen zu einem wichtigen Teil der monetären Aussenwirtschaft gemacht. Die darauffolgenden Krisen in Russland, Brasilien und Argentinien haben die Bedeutung dieses Themas nur noch erhöht. Die Häufung und das Ausmass der Krisen in den letzten 15 Jahren sind auch auf ein verändertes institutionelles Umfeld zurückzuführen, da sich während des gleichen Zeitraums die Kapitalmobilität bedeutend erhöht hat.
