Summary

The importance of race and geographic location have been described as variables in comparing hemodialysis populations. We have extended our investigations into our CAPD population. Survival in our ambulatory peritoneal dialysis patients is better than that of hemodialysis patients in two geographic areas. To interpret data from diverse dialysis populations, many considerations must be evaluated for adequate interpretation.
