In diesem Kapitel werden wir uns mit den grundlegenden Softwareaspekten der Mikroprozessoren beschäftigen — also nur mit diejenigen Aspekte, die unmittelbar von der Prozessor-Hardware vorgegeben werden. Im wesentlichen geschieht dies durch eine ausführliche Beschreibung der verschiedenen von Mikroprozessoren unterstützten Datentypen und Datenformate, Befehlssätze und Adressierungsarten1.
