Abstract

The analysis of the structure of the deuteron is carried out in the framework of the dispersion diagram method. Taking into account nucleon degrees of freedom only, the pn phase shift data (δ S , δ D and inelasticity ε) for J P = 1+ at the kinetic energies up to 1.0 GeV were used for the determination of the deuteron vertices, which are the relativistic analogues of the deuteron wave function. A good description of the form factor combinations A(Q 2) and B(Q 2) up to Q 2 = 1.8 GeV 2/ c 2, including the deuteron magnetic and quadrupole moments was obtained.
