Zusammenfassung
Chlorionen fällen aus neutralen oder sauren Silberlösungen weißes Silberchlorid aus, unlöslich in Salpetersäure, aber leicht löslich in Ammoniak unter Bildung von Diamminsilberchlorid (Ag(NH3)2Cl). Auf Zusatz von Salpetersäure wird dieses Komplexsalz wieder zerlegt unter Abscheidung von Silberchlorid.
