Zusammenfassung
Morbus coeruleus oder die „Maladie bleue“ ist im wesentlichen ein Zustand, in dem der Blutfluß durch die Lunge unzugänglich ist. Gewöhnlich ist die Ursache eine Stenose der Pulmonalis oder eine Atresie, ein Defekt des Septums zwischen den Herzkammern und der Aorta, deren Ursprung über dem Septum reitet in einem solchen Umfang, daß die Aorta Blut von beiden Herzkammern empfängt. Diese Tetralogie ist gewöhnlich mit dem Namen Fallots verbunden, der diese Mißbildung 1888 in seiner Abhandlung „Contribution à l’anatomie pathologique de la maladie bleue“ (Cyanose cardiaque) beschrieben hat, obgleich andere wie z. B. Sandfort, William Hunter, Farke, Gintrac und Peacock denselben Zustand 1777 und 1866 beschrieben hatten.
