Abstract

The “macromolecular syndrome” (Huepner; Palmer) can be produced in laboratory animals by repeated injections of various nonphysiologic macro-molecular polymers. The storage of these substances in the macrophages of the R.E.-system produces a histologic and hematologic picture which is similar to that of Gaucher's disease and glycogen storage disease.
