Zusammenfassung
Der erste „Internationale Kongreß für Angewandte Mechanik“ fand vor 40 Jahren in Delft statt. Hier wurde auch das „Internationale Komitee der Kongresse für Angewandte Mechanik“ gegründet mit der Aufgabe, fortan in Abständen von vier Jahren an wechselnden Orten den Internationalen Kongreß für Angewandte Mechanik zu veranstalten.
