Abstract
A principle design is indicated for automatic control of a long range rocket. During the powered flight the rocket is steered by an automatic pilot mounted in the vehicle, according to a prescribed program of motion. If this automatic pilot operates in the right way, the rocket describes its orbit without external intervention. Besides this internal control, the rocket is supervised by a terrestrial station which by radio signals automatically interferes as soon as the rocket deviates from the prescribed orbit, guiding the rocket again into this required trajectory.
