Summary
The problem is discussed under which conditions an additional order is profitable in the course of a normal inventory. If the additional cost of inventory and ordering is higher than the direct savings connected with the additional offer, one will not accept even a cheap offer. The critical intervals and the optimal quantity ordered are determined Finally the influence of different methods of evaluation of inventory costs on the various decision parameters is discussed.
