Zusammenfassung
Infektionen durch Bakterien, Pilze und seltener auch Viren bedrohen Kinder und Jugendliche mit Krebserkrankung, insbesondere in den Phasen der Granulozytopenie. Verbesserungen in der Diagnostik sowie die empirische antibiotische und antimykotische Therapie haben die mit Infektionen verbundene Morbidität und Letalität deutlich gesenkt. Weitere wichtige Eckpfeiler der Supportivtherapie sind infektionspräventive Maßnahmen sowie eine Infektionssurveillance.
