Abstract
Starting with this chapter, we will focus on building our own applications on the Semantic Web. And indeed, before any application can be created, we have to have data first. While it is not hard to find large amounts of structured data on the Web (for example, from the open data cloud), it is also important to understand how to create your own RDF data. Therefore your application has a starting point, and your domain can eventually become part of the Semantic Web.
