FormalPara BeschreibungPhytansäure (C20H40O2, Molmasse 312,538 g, Strukturformel s. Überlangkettige Fettsäuren) ist klinisch bei der Refsum-Erkrankung von Bedeutung. Störungen des peroxysomalen Abbaus durch Defekte der Phytanoyl-CoA-Hydroxylase bzw. des Gens für den PTS2-Rezeptor führen zur Akkumulation der Fettsäure. Nachweis durch Bestimmung mittels GC-MS.
