Zusammenfassung
In diesem Beitrag soll das Merkmal der ethischen Kompetenz aus personaldiagnostischer Perspektive eingeführt werden. Ethische Kompetenz wird dabei als Oberbegriff für eine ganze Reihe von Prozessen und Merkmalen verwendet, die moralisches Entscheiden und Handeln umfassen. Es werden zunächst relevante moralpsychologische Grundlagen erläutert und einschlägige Modelle moralischen Entscheidens und Handelns skizziert. Anschließend werden Möglichkeiten der Diagnostik ethischer Kompetenz aufgezeigt sowie praktische Implikationen zur Förderung ethischer Kompetenz abgeleitet. In diesem Teil werden die moralischen Kapazitäten der Empathie, Ungerechtigkeitssensibilität, moralischen Achtsamkeit und die Kapazität, positive moralische Emotionen zu empfinden, in den Mittelpunkt der Diskussion gerückt. Der Beitrag schließt mit Handlungsempfehlungen für die Organisationsentwicklung, mit deren Hilfe eine organisationsseitige Förderung ethischer Kompetenz ermöglicht werden kann.

Unter Moral kann man so viel wie Sittlichkeit einer Handlung verstehen bzw. die Gesamtheit von Normen des sittlichen Verhaltens eines Individuums, einer bestimmten Gruppe, Gesellschaft oder Kultur (vgl. Krettenauer und Montada 2005). Dagegen stellt die in der Antike begründete Wissenschaft der Ethik eines der großen Teilgebiete der Philosophie dar und hat die Moral zum Gegenstand. Die Ethik unternimmt den Versuch einer rationalen Klärung der Moral (vgl. Blickle und Nerdinger 2014).

In der moralpsychologischen Forschung wird der Begriff „ethisch“ meist für moralische Aspekte in der beruflichen Praxis benutzt. Jedoch werden‐ die Begriffe „moralisch“ und „ethisch“ oft auch synonym gebraucht (vgl. Jones 1991; Tenbrunsel und Smith‐Crowe 2008), obwohl beide Begriffe freilich keine Synonyme darstellen (s. Fußnote 1).
