Zusammenfassung

Die Divertikelkrankheit gehört zu den häufigsten Erkrankungen des Gastrointestinaltraktes. Kommt es zum Auftreten einer Divertikulitis, sind Komplikationen wie eine gedeckte oder offene Perforation sowie mittel- bis langfristig rezidivierende schmerzhafte Schübe, Stenosen oder Fisteln nicht selten. Für eine differenzierte Indikationsstellung zur operativen Therapie ist eine korrekte Diagnostik und Klassifikation der Erkrankung essenziell. Zudem sollte diese prätherapeutisch erfolgen.
