Abstract
Rotator cuff injury is uncommon in the pediatric population but may occur, usually associated with repetitive microtrauma in overhead athletic activities or a single traumatic event. The supraspinatus tendon is the most frequently involved particularly articular-side partial-thickness tears and concurrent labral pathology can be found in one third of the cases. Conservative rehabilitation and activity modification may continue to be appropriate for many of these patients, but patients with associated lesions are more likely to require surgical intervention.
