Summary
Having in mind futur applications of large eddy simulation to engineering problems, a numerical code operating in physical space only is presented. Results are analysed in Fourier space and quality is shown to be comparable to that of pseudo-spectral codes. An advective formulation of subgrid scale effects is proposed and special care is devoted to the problems arising as a large mean field is present.
